I've been really working on starting a foundation for this blog that I'm hoping will last into the future. Towards that, I've:
-Set up a monthly calendar for my blog posting schedule.
-Did every planned post, and am about a week ahead on posts give or take a few days depending on my publishing rate.
-Regularly working through the three programs I've got going on. My blog views have gone from about 0-50 daily to now 50-100 daily. Subscribed readers will come, but the focus is exposure right now.
-Spent some time planning out the next few months and some goals for the upcoming year, which I'm very excited about.
-Doing my own photography for the vast majority of any pictures, and looking into ways to really improve said photography.
-Kept the 3 posts/wk. minimum goal.
-Recognized how much regular work it takes to build a blog platform.
-My method for writing posts is to just get everything out all at once one day, and then wait a couple days and edit to fine tune everything.
The other goals I completed:
-5000 words towards my novel.
-Only one sewing project, but that's because I wanted this month to really focus on laying the foundation more than anything else. Now that the system is starting to get into place there's going to be a lot more sewing happnening here.
Still working on:
-My blogging voice.
-Developing my brand, and trying to figure out details with promoting that.
-Making my schedule better by becoming a morning person so that things aren't last minute and done late, but instead done first thing.
-I really need to get my office in shape so that it can become a hub.
-Developing social media and figuring out how it's going to be used to promote my blog.
I love your well thought out plans :) It took me for ages to find my blogging self/voice. I think yours is more present than you realize :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. One of the things I really enjoy about your blog is your organized way of thinking things through.
DeleteIt's amazing to me how much time it takes to really focus on something like this when you want to make it long lasting. If I want to stay sane, I need to think my plans out.
